My mixed-media portraiture work functions as a visual biography. Images, words, ephemera, and a touch of color are layered together to create what I call the draw, that pull that captures your attention from across the room. As you move closer, the story unfolds. Old clippings, fragments of text, and layered imagery reveal the life and character of the individual. By the time you’re standing a foot away, you’re no longer just seeing a portrait, you’re reading art. This series carries the widest range of expression and often the most energy.
